17th Session Alibaba Hydrofoil Assist Review. The Good & Not So Good.

We are officially at 17 sessions with the Alibaba Foil Assist and still no fires! :) At this stage, we’ve moved past the initial testing phase and into long-term use. This update focuses on how the system has been going, the good and the not so good. the transition from pure eFoiling to wave assistance and how my technical modifications are holding up.

My usage of the kit has evolved. Moving from constant motor power e foil to using the assist specifically for wave entry has significantly extended my run times to about 1.5hours. By utilizing the motor only for the "take-off" burst and gliding once on the wave, I’m seeing a major shift in battery efficiency, Thermal management still is cool but the temps here are 8 degrees so that would be helping.
After 17 sessions in the salt, I’m performing a teardown of the custom mods to see if it is actually working, plus some issues with the remote and antenna.
Checking the 3mm EVA gasket and silicone grease barrier for any signs of saltwater etc
Inspecting the mast adapter and shims the battery connectors and the remote’s ongoing charging issues.
